Stradsett, a village and a parish in Norfolk, 4 miles NE from Downham station on the Ely and Lynn section of the G.E.R. There is a post office under Downham; money order and telegraph office, Fincham. Acreage, 1346; population of the civil parish, 122; of the ecclesiastical, with Crimplesham, 399. Stradsett Hall is a large mansion standing in a park in which there is a lake of over 21 acres. It belongs, with the manor and most of the land, to the Bagge family. The living is a vicarage, annexed to Crimplesham, in the diocese of Norwich; joint gross value, £272 with residence. The church, a stuccoed edifice, in the Early English style, was restored and re-decorated in 1891.
