Saxlingham, Norfolk

Description
Saxlingham, a parish in Norfolk, 8 miles ENE of Walsingham station on the Wymondham and Wells section of the G.E.R., and 3 1/2 W from Holt station on the Midland and Great Northern Joint railway. Post town and money order and telegraph office, Holt (R.S.O.) Acreage, 1546; population, 139. The manor, with most of the land, belongs to the White family. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Norwich; gross value, £350 with residence. The church is an ancient cruciform building of flint in the Perpendicular style, consisting of chancel, nave, two transepts, S porch, and a western tower.
