Runhall, Norfolk

Description
Runhall, a scattered parish in Norfolk, 1 mile N by E of Hardingham station on the Wymondham and Dereham section of the G.E.R., and 5 1/2 miles NW of Wymondham. Post town and telegraph office, Wymondham; money order office, Barnham Broom. Acreage, 850; population of the civil parish, 187; of the ecclesiastical, 242. There is a parish council consisting of five members. The manor and most of the land belong to the Earl of Kimberley. The living is a vicarage, annexed to Coston, in the diocese of Norwich; joint net value, £100 with residence, in the gift of the Bishop of Norwich and the Earl of Kimberley alternately. The church is a small building of flint and stone in the Perpendicular style, consisting of nave and a round western tower only. It formerly had a chancel, but this was long ago destroyed by fire, and has never been rebuilt.
