Panxworth, Norfolk

Description
Panxworth, a village and a parish in Norfolk, 4 1/2 miles NNE of Brundall, 3 N from Lingwood station on the Norwich and Yarmouth section of the G.E.R., and 8 ENE of Norwich. Post town, Norwich; money order office, South Walsham; telegraph office, Woodbastwick. The parish is united with Banworth for all civil purposes. It occupies an area of about 500 acres, with a population of 125. The living is a rectory, annexed to the vicarage of Woodbastwick, in the diocese of Norwich; joint gross value, £315 with residence. There was no church at Panxworth for upwards of 200 years. A ruined tower marked the spot where the church stood, and in 1847 this was repaired and a neat nave added so as to afford 120 sittings.
