Runcton, North, a parish, with Hardwick hamlet, in Norfolk, 3 miles SSE of Lynn, and 2 SW from Middleton station on the G.E.R. It has a post office under Kings Lynn; money order office, West Winch; telegraph office, Kings Lynn. Acreage, 1456; population of the civil parish, 285; of the ecclesiastical, with Hardwick and Setchey, 390. Euncton Hall, a seat of the Gurney family, is a mansion of white brick standing in its own grounds. The manor belongs to the Whittaker family. The living is a rectory, united with Hardwick and Setchy, in the diocese of Norwich; joint net value, £470 with residence. The church is a building of Carr stone and brick in the Classic style, consisting of chancel, nave, and a tower and spire.
