Description
Ellingham, Little, a village and a parish in Norfolk, 5 miles NW from Attleborough station on the G.E.R. Post town, Attleborough; money order and telegraph office, Hing-ham. Acreage, 1539 ; population, 298. A village here was of some importance at Domesday, but now is very inconsiderable. The living is a rectory, with residence, annexed to Great Ellingham, in the diocese of Norwich. The church, soon after being restored, was destroyed by fire in 1867, and was re-restored in 1869. There is a small Primitive Methodist chapel. Ellingham Hall is a modern mansion erected in 1855.
