Description
Howe, a village and a parish in Norfolk, 5 miles from Swainsthorpe and Trowse stations on the G.E.R., and 6 SSE from Norwich. Post town and money order office, Brooke, under Norwich; telegraph office, Trowse Newton, Acreage, 790; population of the civil parish, 84; of the ecclesiastical, with Little Poringland, 114. The living is a rectory, united with the rectory of Little Poringland, in the diocese of Norwich; joint net value, £272 with residence. The church is ancient, has a round old Saxon tower, and was restored in 1864.
