Description
Gasthorpe, a village and a parish in Norfolk, on the river Little Ouse, at the boundary with Suffolk, 4 1/2 miles S of Harling Koad station on the G.E.R., and 7 1/4 E by S of Thetford. Post town, Thetford; money order office, Hop-ton ; telegraph office, Garboldisham. Acreage, 871; population of the civil parish, 87; of the ecclesiastical^ 172. The living is a rectory, annexed to the rectory of Riddlesworth and Knettishall (Suffolk), in the diocese of Norwich ; joint net yearly value, £260 with residence. The church is in ruins, and has been so for about two hundred years.
