Description
Bale, or Bathley, a parish in Norfolk, 2 miles NE from Thursford station on the Eastern and Midland railway, and 5 W from Holt. Dereham is the post town; money order office, Holt; telegraph office, Melton Constable. Acreage, 1067; population, 239. The living is a rectory, annexed to that of Gunthorpe, in the diocese of Norwich. The church is an edifice of flint in the Later English and Decorated styles.
