Description
Wigtoft, a parish, with two hamlets, in Lincolnshire, 2 miles WNW of Algarkirk station on the G.N.R., and 6 1/2 SW of Boston. It has a post office under Boston; money order and telegraph office, Sutterton. Acreage, 3587; population, 662. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Lincoln; net value, £250 with residence. Patron, the Bishop of Lincoln. The church includes Norman, Early English, and Later English portions, and was thoroughly restored in 1891-92. There is a Wesleyan chapel.
