Wainfleet St Mary, a parish, with a village, in Lincolnshire, 1 1/2 mile WSW of Wainfleet All Saints station on the G.N.R. Post town, Wainfleet, under Boston. Acreage, 6179; population, 718. There is a parish council consisting of seven members. The manor belongs to Bethlehem Hospital. Wainfleet Hall is the chief residence. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Lincoln; gross value, £300 with residence. Patron, Bethlehem Hospital. The church is a handsome building of brick and stone in the Early English style, and was thoroughly restored in 1893 at a cost of £1600. A small mission chapel was erected in 1883.
