Stragglethorpe, a small village and a parish in Lincolnshire, on the Brant, 3 miles W from Leadenham station on the Grantham and Lincoln branch of the G.N.R., and 7 1/2 E by S of Newark. Post town, Newark; money order and telegraph office, Leadenham. Acreage, 729; population, 73. The manor belongs to the Welby Gregory baronet family. Stragglethorpe Old Hall was formerly the seat of the Caile family, but is now a farmhouse. The living is a perpetual curacy, annexed to Beckingham. The church is a small edifice of stone in the Early English style.
