Description
Stewton, a small parish in Lincolnshire, 2 1/2 miles E from Louth station on the East Lincolnshire section of the G.N.R. Post town and money order and telegraph office, Louth. Acreage, 1030; population, 112. The manor belongs to the Foster family. Bricks, tiles, and drain-pipes are made. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Lincoln; gross value, £100 with residence. The church is a small but ancient building of stone of the Early Norman period, consisting of chancel, nave, S porch, and western bell-turret. There is a Free Methodist chapel.
