Description
Thoresby, South, a parish in Lincolnshire, 2 miles from Aby station on the G.N.R., and 3 1/2 WNW of Alford. It has a post office under Alford; money order and telegraph office, Alford. Acreage, 952; population, 139. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Lincoln; net value, £175 with residence. Patron, the Duchy of Lancaster. The church is a small structure of brick, and was erected in 1738. There is a Wesleyan chapel. A trout stream, called the " Withern Eau," runs through the parish.
