Description
Ruckland, a small parish in Lincolnshire, situated on an acclivity of the Wolds, 4 1/4 miles WSW of Authorpe station on the East Lincolnshire section of the G.N.R., 6 S of Louth, and 8 NE of Horncastle. Post town and money order and telegraph office, Louth. Acreage, 734; population of the civil parish, 38; of the ecclesiastical, with Farforth and Maidenwell, 172. The manor belongs to the Dauber family. The living is a rectory, united with Farforth and Maidenwell, in the diocese of Lincoln; gross value, £400 with residence. Patron, the Earl of Yarborough. The church, erected in 1885, is a small building of sandstone in the Gothic style.
