Panton, a parish in Lincolnshire, 3 miles E by N of Wragby, and 1 1/2 mile S from East Barkwith station on the Louth and Lincolnshire branch of the G.N.R. It has a post office under Wragby; money order office, Wragby; telegraph office. East Barkwith (R.S.O.) Acreage, 2018 ; population of the civil parish, 150; of the ecclesiastical, with Wragby, 696. Panton Hall is a mansion of white brick situated on an eminence, and is a seat of the Tumor family, to whom the manor and most of the land belong. The living is a rectory, annexed to Wragby, in the diocese of Lincoln; joint net value, £256 with residence. The church is a small building of stone consisting of nave and chancel only.
