Description
Grimoldby, a village and a parish in Lincolnshire. The village stands 4 miles NE of Legbourne station on the G.N.R., and 5 E from Louth, and has a post office under Louth; money order and telegraph office, Louth. The parish comprises 1854 acres; population, 321. The manor belongs to the Scrope family. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Lincoln; net yearly value, £80 with residence. The church is Transition Decorated English, and consists of nave, chancel, and aisles, with a tower. The interior was renovated in 1891, when a handsome eagle lectern in oak was added. There are also Wesleyan, Primitive Methodist, and Free Methodist chapels.
