Tugby, a village, a township, and a parish in Leicestershire, 2 1/2 miles ESE of Billesdon, 2 NW from East Norton station on the G.N. and L. & N.W. Joint railway, and 7 W from Uppingham. The parish includes Keythorpe liberty, and has a post and money order office under Leicester; telegraph office, East Norton railway station. Acreage, 2209; population of the civil parish, 317; of the ecclesiastical with East Norton, 456. There is a parish council consisting of six members. The manor with Keythorpe Hall, a fine modern mansion standing on an eminence in its own grounds, belongs to the Tyrwhitt-Wilson family. The living is a vicarage, united with East Norton, in the diocese of Peterborough; net value, £246 with residence, in the gift of the Tyrwhitt-Wilson family. The church is a small Norman building of stone, consisting of chancel with aisle, nave, S aisle, S porch, and western tower. There is a Wesleyan chapel.
