Croxton, South, a village and a parish in Leicestershire, on an affluent of the river Wreak, 4 miles SSE of Brooksby station on the M.R., and 7 SW of Melton-Mowbray. Post town, Leicester; money order and telegraph office, Syston. Acreage, 1663 ; population, 234. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Peterborough; gross yearly value, £150 with residence. Patron, the Duke of Rutland. The church is old but good. There is a Primitive Methodist chapel.
