Snarestone, Leicestershire

Description
Snarestone, a parish, with a village, in Leicestershire, 4 1/2 miles S by W of Ashby. It has a station on the Ashby and Nuneaton line of the M.R., and a post office under Atherstone; money order and telegraph office, Measham. Acreage, 1334; population, 302. The manor belongs to the Gordon family. The living is a perpetual curacy annexed to Swepston. The church, which was rebuilt in the eighteenth century, is a plain building of brick, now covered with ivy, and consisting of chancel, nave, and a tower.
