Description
Goadby, a village, a township, and a chapelry in Billes-don parish, Leicestershire, near a branch of the river Welland, 3 miles NW from Hallaton station on the G.N & L.N.W. Joint railway, and 8 NNE of Market-Harborough. Post town, Tugby, under Leicester; money order office, Billesdon ; telegraph office, East Norton. Acreage, 961; population, 93. The living is a perpetual curacy, annexed to the vicarage of Billesdon, in the diocese of Peterborough; joint gross yearly value, £279 with residence. The church, a cruciform Gothic building of stone, was restored in 1854.
