Description
Eaton, a village and a parish in Leicestershire, on the river Devon, 3 miles SE from Harby and Stathern station, on the G. N. and L. & N.W. Joint railway, and 8 NE by N from Melton-Mowbray, with a post office under Grantham; money order and telegraph office, Knipton. Acreage, 1769 ; population, 437. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Peterborough; net yearly value, £106 with residence. Patron, the Lord Chancellor. The church is a neat building, with tower and spire. There are Wesleyan and Congregational chapels.
