Eastwell, a village and a parish in Leicestershire, on the Wolds, 6 1/4 miles NNE from Melton-Mowbray town, and 3 NE from Long Clawson station on the G.N. and L. & N.W. Joint railways, with a post office under Melton-Mowbray; money order office, Stathern ; telegraph office, Harby. Acreage, 1361; population, 200. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Peterborough; net yearly value, £293 with residence. Patron, the Lord Chancellor. The church is a small building of stone in the Early English style, and there is a Roman Catholic chapel, erected in 1798. East Wellow. See WELLOW.
