Cold-Overton, a village and a parish in Leicestershire, at the boundary with Rutland, 3 1/2 miles WNW of Oakham, which is the railway station, and with a post office under Oakham; money order office, Knossington; telegraph office, Somerby. Acreage, 1729 ; population, 110. Cold-Overton Hall belongs to the Frewen family. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Peterborough; value, £179 with residence. The church is an old Gothic building of stone, and has a tower and spire.
