Description
Windle, a township in Prescot parish, Lancashire, and mainly within the county borough of St Helens. It comprises Moss Bank, which has a station on the L. & N.W.R. Acreage, 3150; population, 23,581. The manor belongs to Lord Gerard. There are collieries and large chemical works.
