Description
Wheelton, a township in Leyland parish, Lancashire, 3 miles NE of Chorley. It has a post and money order office under Chorley; telegraph office, Brinscall. Acreage, 1696; population, 1538. There are calico printing and cotton mills, and stone quarries. Brinscall Hall is the seat of the Wood family. There is a mission church.
