Lawkland, a township in Austwick ecclesiastical parish, in the W. R. Yorkshire, near the river Ribble, 3 miles NW of Settle, which is the nearest railway station. Post town and money order office, Austwick; telegraph office, Olapham. Acreage, including the hamlets of Eldroth and Frizor, 5350; population, 280. Lawkland Hall is the property of the Ingleby family, who are lords of the manor and principal landowners. There is a Roman Catholic chapel.
