Heyhouses, a township in Lancashire. It lies in Pendle Forest, adjacent to Sabden, 4 1/2 miles SE by S of Clitheroe railway station, and was at one time extra-parochiaL Acreage, 322; population, 47. The ecclesiastical parish of Heyhouses includes parts of Pendleton, Read, Padiham, Higham, and Goldshaw Booth, and it was constituted in 1849. Post town, Whalley; money order and telegraph office, Sabden. Population, 1352. The manor belongs to the Duke of Buccleuch. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Manchester; gross value, £196 with residence. The church was built in 1842, is in the Norman style, and consists of nave and chancel, with tower and spire. There is a national school with an endowment of £10 a year.
