Datchworth, a village and a parish in Hertfordshire, 1 1/2 mile E by S from Knebworth station on the G.N.R., and 6 1/2 miles NW of Hertford, with a post office under Stevenage; money order and telegraph office, Knebworth. Acreage, 1960 ; population, 672. The living is a rectory in the diocese of St Albans; value, £302 with residence. Patron, Clare 'College, Cambridge. The church is an ancient building of stone and flint chiefly in the Decorated style.
