Wellington, a village and a parish in Herefordshire, 2 miles NNW of Moreton-on-Lugg station on the Shrewsbury and Hereford (G.W. and L. & N.W. Joint) railway, and 5 1/2 N by W of Hereford. There is a post and money order office under Hereford; telegraph office, Bodenham. Acreage, 3060; population of the civil parish, 613; of the ecclesiastical, 563. There is a parish council consisting of eight members. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Hereford; net value £200 with residence. Patron, the Bishop of Worcester. The church is ancient, and was restored, with the exception of the tower, in 1887. There are six almshouses and other charities.
