Llancillo, Herefordshire

Description
Llancillo, a village and a parish in Herefordshire, on the river Monnow, at the boundary with Monmouthshire, 2 1/2 miles SW of Pohtrilas station on the G.W.R., and 4 SSW of Abbeydore. Post town, Abergavenny; money order and telegraph office, Pontrilas. Acreage, 1086 ; population, 60. The living is a vicarage, annexed to the vicarage of Eowl-stone, in the diocese of Hereford, The church is ancient, and was restored in 1894-95. A tree-covered mound marks the site of a former Border stronghold.
