Marcle, Little, a parish in Herefordshire, on an affluent of the river Leadon, adjacent to Gloucestershire, 3 miles SW of Ledbury. It has a post office under Ledbury; money order and telegraph office, Ledbury. Acreage, 1249; population, 152. Little Marcle Court, formerly a seat of the Hanbury family, is now occupied by cottagers. The surface is boldly undulating. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Hereford; netvalue, £150 with residence. Patron, the Bishop of Hereford. A new church on a fresh site was built in 1869, and is in the Decorated style, with a bell-turret.
