Description
Hereford, Little, a village and a parish in Herefordshire. The village stands on- the river Teme, near the boundary with Worcestershire and Salop, 3 miles W by N of Tenbury. It has a railway station (Easton Court) on the Shrewsbury and Hereford Joint (L. & N.W. and G.W.) railway, and a post office under Tenbury; money order and telegraph office,. Brimfield. The parish contains also the hamlet of Middleton and the township of Upton. Acreage, 3539; population, 425. Easton Court is the chief residence. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Hereford; gross value,, £282 with residence. Patron, the Bishop of Worcester. The church is ancient, of various dates; was well restored in 1849, and contains a piscina, sedilia, two ancient brasses, and several monuments. There is a Primitive Methodist chapel at Middleton.
