Description
Humber, a parish in Herefordshire, on Humber brook, an affluent of the river Lugg, 3 miles SE of Leominster. It includes the township of Risbury, and has a station called Steens Bridge, on the Leominster and Bromyard branch of the G.W.R. Post town, Leominster. Acreage, 1836; population of the civil parish, 239; of the ecclesiastical, 192. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Hereford; net value, £140 with residence. The church is ancient, and has a tower with spire, which was restored in 1884. The church itself was restored in 1878, when the N transept was added.
