Description
Penton Mewsey, a parish in Hants, 2 1/2 miles WNW of Andover station on the L. & S.W.R. It has a post office under Andover; money order and telegraph office, Weyhill. Acreage, 1059; population, 274. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Winchester; net value, £200 with residence. The church is ancient, was restored in 1888, and has a fine bell-turret. There is a nonconformist lecture-hall in the village.
