Description
Coombs or Coombe, a parish in Sussex, on the river Adur, 1 1/2 mile S by E of Bramber station on the L.B. & S.C.R., and 2 1/2 miles SSE of Steyning. The parish is situated in a deep and sheltered valley of the Downs. Post town, Shore-ham ; money order and telegraph office, Shoreham. Acreage, 1280; population, 86. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Chichester ; value, £180. Patron, Lord Leconfield. The church is in the Early English style. It was shortened in 1724.
