Description
Upleadon, a village and a parish in Gloucestershire, 3 miles E by N of Newent. Post town, Newent, under Gloucester. Acreage, 1230; population, 206. Considerable iron forges were formerly here, and were converted into a flour-mill. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Gloucester and Bristol; gross value, £214 with residence. Patron, the Bishop of Gloucester and Bristol. The church has a Norman arch, and was restored in 1879. There is a mission church (erected in 1888) and a Wesleyan chapel.
