Description
Rudford, a village and a parish in Gloucestershire, on tho river Leadon, 4 1/2 miles SE of Newent, and 4 1/2 NW of Gloucester. There is a station, called Barber's Bridge, on the G.W.R. Post town, Gloucester. The parish includes also the hamlet of Highleadon, and comprises 1214 acres; population, 216. The manor belongs to the Dean and Chapter of Gloucester. Fruit for making cider and perry is largely grown. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Gloucester and Bristol; net value, £220 with residence. Patrons, the Dean and Chapter of Gloucester. The church is mainly Early Norman, and has been restored.
