Little Sodbury, Gloucestershire

Sodbury, Little, a parish in Gloucestershire, 2 miles E. by N of Chipping Sodbury, and 4 E by N of Yate station on the M.R. Post town, Chipping Sodbury. Acreage, 1093; population, 143. The manor house, now occupied as a farmhouse, was the seat of Sir John Walsh. There are remains of a Roman encampment. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Gloucester and Bristol; gross value, £157 with residence. The church was built in 1859. Tyndale, the translator of the Scriptures, was for some time a resident.
