Description
Corse, a parish in Gloucestershire, on an affluent of the river Severn, 4 1/4 miles E by N of Newent, and 6 NNW of Gloucester. It has a post and money order office, of the name of Corse Lawn, under Tewkesbury; telegraph office, Hasfield. Acreage, 2190; population, 419. At Snigsend in this parish are a number of cottages built by the Chartist Association. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Gloucester and Bristol; net value, £224 with residence. Patron, the Lord Chancellor. The church is ancient, and there is a Wesleyan chapel.
