Fryerning, a parish which forms three-fourths of the town of Ingatestone, in Essex, half a mile NW of Ingatestone station on the G.E.K. Post town, and money order and telegraph office, Ingatestone. Acreage of Ingatestone and Fryeming, 4133 ; population, 1688. Acreage of Fryerning, 1391;) population of the ecclesiastical parish, 726. The living is a rectory in the diocese of St Albans; gross yearly value, [£304: with residence. Patron, Wadham College, Oxford. i'he church is a building of stone and Roman brick in Mixed styles with a massive embattled western tower.
