South Pool, Devon

Description
Pool, South, a village and a parish in Devonshire. The village stands at the head of a creek of Salcombe Haven, 5 miles SE of Kingsbridge station on the G.W.R. The parish contains also the hamlet of North Pool and part of the village of Frogmore. It has a post office under Kingsbridge; money order and telegraph office, Frogmore. Acreage, 1983; population, 346. There is a parish council consisting of nine members. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Exeter; net value, £260 with residence. The church is good, has a lofty tower, and contains a carved screen, and a fine altar-tomb.
