Description
Clyst-St Lawrence, a parish in Devonshire, on the river Clyst, 2 1/2 miles ESE of Hole station on the G.W.R., and 4 SSE of Collumpton. Post town, Exeter; money order and telegraph office, Whimple. Acreage, 1,027 ; population, 126. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Exeter; gross value, £204 with nearly 50 acres of glebe and residence. Patrons, the trustees of St John's Hospital, Exeter. The church is Later English, consists of nave and chancel, with lofty western tower, and has an ancient screen and rood loft.
