Description
Clyst-Honiton, a parish in Devonshire, on the river Clyst, 1 mile WSW of Broad Clyst station on the L. & S.W.R., and 4 ENE of Exeter. It has a post and money order office under Exeter; telegraph office, Broad-Clyst railway station. Acreage, 1786; population, 274. The manor belongs to the Ecclesiastical Commissioners. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Exeter; value, £179. Patrons, the Dean and Chapter of Exeter. The church is a fine old edifice of nave, chancel, and north aisle, with lofty western tower, and has a very ancient font. It was restored in 1875, and a peal of six hells placed in it in 1882.
