Willington, Derbyshire

Willington, a parish, with a village, in Derbyshire, on the river Trent, the Grand Trunk Canal, and the M.R., 4 1/2 miles NE of Burton-upon-Trent. It has a post, money order, and telegraph office under Burton-upon-Trent, and a station on the M.R. called Repton and Willington. Acreage, 1326; population, 596. The manor belongs to the Burdett family. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Southwell; net value, £100 with residence. The church is old, and consists of chancel, nave, N transept, and a small embattled western tower. There are Baptist and Wesleyan chapels.
