Description
Unstone, a township in Dronfield parish, Derbyshire, 4 1/4miles N by W of Chesterfield. It has a post office under Sheffield; money order and telegraph office, Dronfield; and a station on the M.R. The township includes Apperknowle, Hundow, and Sunmerley. Acreage, 2003; population, 1687. There is a parish council of five members. There are Primitive Methodist and Wesleyan chapels, and a Congregational mission room; and a Primitive Methodist chapel, erected in 1880, is at Apperknowle.
