Wardle, Cheshire

Description
Wardle, a village and a township in Bunbury parish, Cheshire, 4 miles NW of Nantwich. Acreage, 1062; population, 164. There is a wharf on the Shropshire Union Canal here. Draining tiles for agricultural purposes are manufactured. Lord Tollemache is lord of the manor. Wardle Hall is an old timber and plaster farmhouse, with a small portion of the moat left.
