Description
Rudheath, a township in Davenham, Great Budworth, and Sandback parishes, Cheshire, on the Grand Trunk Canal, 2 miles SE of Northwich. Post town, Northwich. Acreage, 2298; population, 644. The manor belonged to the Drak-lows, passed to the Crown, was given to the Portland family, and went by sale to the Marshalls. Rudheath Heath was the scene of an action in 1643 between the Royalists and the Parliamentarians. There is a chapel of ease.
