Poulton, Cheshire

Description
Poulton, a township in Pulford parish, Cheshire, on an affluent of the river Dee, 4 miles S of Chester. Acreage, 7405; population, 170. The Duke of Westminster is lord of the manor. A Cistercian abbey was founded here in 1153 by Robert Pincerna, and was removed in 1220 to Dieulacres in Staffordshire.
