Hoose, a township in Hoylake ecclesiastical parish. West Kirby parish, Cheshire, on the coast, 8 miles NW of Birken-head. Acreage, 108 of land, 7 of tidal water, and 1608 of foreshore; population, 1658. There is a Wesleyan chapel.
